Danceland at Dalby's offers a bespoke pointe shoe fitting service.
 

A first pointe shoe fitting is always such an exciting time in any dancer's journey.
We endeavour to make every experience special and personal, whether it be a solo appointment or a group fitting with your friends.  
For years, Dalbys have been fitting pointe shoes and developing our stock range to incorporate the newest technology and science, with over 30 styles in store at any time.

Our range includes all of the most loved brands - including BLOCH, Merlet, R-Class, Grishko, Freed, Capezio and Virtesse - with multiple styles from each to suit any type of foot and dancer that walks through our doors.

We appreciate that having the opportunity to get shoes to match your skin tone is very important, so here at Dalbys we are always looking for new releases and sources that enable us to provide these. Although our in store stock may vary, we will always do our best to source the right colour for you. 
All of our staff receive extensive training on the best ways of fitting shoes and why each part of the fitting affects performance and health of the dancer's feet. They will explain to you the whole process of the fitting to help you explain what you like or dislike about a shoe. Not only that, but they have all danced and been on pointe so know what you are feeling. 
We will start by looking at the shape of your feet and talking about anything you struggle with - whether that be ankle strength, high arches, or anything else.
Samples of all of our pointe accessories are on hand for us to trial in your shoes, to test the most comfortable combination for you.
At the end of your fitting, and throughout we will give you time to take pictures of your fitting experience to keep the memories. 
 
Advice before your appointment:
Come with toe nails cut and ideally without nail varnish
Wear ballet socks or tights / change into some when you arrive
Wear some comfortable leggings so we can get to your feet/ankles
Know your dance school's preferences - e.g. whether you are allowed toe pads
Know your shoe size...

    Appointments aren't essential - feel free to walk in and we'll get your appointment started as soon as possible! However, on some days we may not be able to fit your fitting in if we are extremely busy, so an appointment is preferred if possible.
